Bio

A National recording & touring artist, David Correa has been entertaining audiences since 1999 with his passionate and distinctive blend of instrumental Latin/World Guitar. The music is a blend of the Spanish guitar with Latin rhythms from Old Mexico & Central America. 

Formerly with Baja/TSR Records David Correa has toured throughout the west coast, northwest & southwest regions of the U.S. and has won numerous accolades and awards. Including 3 NORBAY awards for best Latin band in the San Francisco North Bay area three years in a row from 2005 through 2007.

Between 1999 and 2003 Correa released three independent CD's on Zocalo Records. "Cascada" in 1999, "Alas del Viento" in 2001 and "Incidents of Travel" in 2003.

He has released two full length cd's on the prestigious label Baja/TSR Records, "Rumba de la Selva" in 2007 and "New Moon" in 2015. In 2008 "Gypsy Spice" Best of New Flamenco compilation CD was released and featured the track "Linda" from "Rumba de la Selva" along side artists such as Ottmar Liebert, Jesse Cook, Shahin & Sepehr, Govi, Armik, Young & Rollins, Behzad, Luis Villegas, Novamenco and Benise.

In 2011 Correa released his 5th CD "Eterna Primavera" which was released on Zocalo Records.

In 2013 "Guitar Greats - The Best of New Flamenco Volume III" was released on Baja/TSR Records. This compilation CD features one of David Correa's tracks entitled "Amistad" alongside artist such as Johannes Linstead, Jesse Cook, Incendio, Armik, Luis Villegas, Pavlo, Behzad, Oscar Lopez, Lawson Rollins and many more. This will be the second major CD compilation that Correa has appeared on.

In 2015 David Correa released his 6th recording entitled "New Moon" on Baja/TSR Records. Two tracks from this cd made into the smooth jazz national radio charts. The title track "New Moon" reached #27 and the track "Hacienda" made it to #39.

in 2020 Alta Vista was released in the month of April which features the current "live show" line up with Tommy Hill on guitar and Rami Ziadeh on percussion. Special guest David Pinto plays bass on this release.

David Correa plays Godin Guitars & Cordoba GK Pro Guitars and uses Savarez Strings, Neunaber Audio Effects, T.C. Electronics, Fishman Aura Spectrum, Shure Wireless Systems & Yamaha Amplification.

DAVID CORREA 

Since 1999 The David Correa Group has built a substantial fan base entertaining audiences in every corner of the San Francisco Bay Area. The band’s live performance is a high energy show that can get an audience out of their seats and the group also has been known to perform intimate concerts in a theater setting. Their unique sound has gained them wide acclaim locally & regionally. Touring out of state at festivals, concerts in the park and summer concert series events throughout the Northwest, the Southwest and Southern California is helping the group build momentum throughout the rest of the country.  

Three years in a row (2005-2007) David Correa's band was named Best Latin Band in the North Bay and received a NORBAY award.

In 2006 David signed with prestigious Southern California BAJA/TSR Records and in 2007 released ”Rumba de la Selva”.

In January of 2009, The Best of New Flamenco compilation CD "Gypsy Spice" was released featuring a track from "Rumba de la Selva" entitled "Linda", alongside known artists such as Ottmar Liebert, Jesse Cook, Luis Villegas, Govi, Behzad, Benise, Armik, Young and Rollins and others.

In 2011 the album "Eterna Primavera" was released on Zocalo Records.

In 2013 the compilation CD "Guitar Greats III - The Best of New Flamenco" was released featuring one of Correa's tracks "Amistad". Artists on this CD include Johannes Linstead, Incendio, Pavlo, Luis Villegas, Lawson Rollins, Novamenco, Armik and others. 

In 2015 the CD "New Moon" was released on Baja/TSR Records, David Correa's 6th cd to date. During the first month of the release of "New Moon" the title track reached #29 on the smooth jazz national radio charts. Later in 2016 the track "Hacienda" lasted 12 weeks on the smooth jazz charts making it to #37.

In 2020 Correa released his 7th CD "Alta Vista". This CD features his current band members that he performs with, Tommy Hill on guitar, Rami Ziadeh on percussion and David Pinto on bass.
